Quintus Vibius Secundus
Male, Deceased Person
Who is Quintus Vibius Secundus?
Quintus Vibius Secundus was a Roman Politician that lived in the 1st century and the 2nd century. Secundus came from a family of Roman Equestrian order and by birth he was of the Vibius gens. His mother was a Roman noblewoman called Junia, who came from the Junius. Secundus’ brother was the influential Politician Lucius Junius Quintus Vibius Crispus. Secundus was born and raised in Rome. There is a possibility that Secundus could be related to suffect consul Lucius Vibius Sabinus, father of the Roman Empress Vibia Sabina.
In late 59, Secundus was convicted for extortion on a charge brought by the Mauretanians and was expelled from Italy. His brother Crispus through his influence in the Roman Senate manage to save Secundus from a worse sentence. Secundus served as a suffect consul in 86 and in 113 served as Proconsul in the Province of Asia.
