Who was Ralph E. Chambers?
Ralph E. Chambers was an engineer, inventor and builder of amusement rides in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania between 1933 and 1962.
As the R. E. Chambers Company, which he formed from the remains of Harry Traver's bankrupt firm, Traver Engineering, where he had been the chief engineer, he built such famous amusement park and carnival rides and attractions as The Whip, The Caterpillar, The Laff In The Dark, Tumble Bug, various roller coasters, and the Speed King Auto Racer midget auto ride for the 1939 New York World's Fair.
A fire at the plant finally ended production.
