Who is René van der Wouden?

Ren van der Wouden (bornFebruary 10th, 1972 NL)is a composer and producer of electronic orientated music, based in the Netherlands. His work is inspired on the music of Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and Patrick O'Hearn. But he also has his musical roots in classical music such as opera and symphonies of well known composers like Bach, Beethoven, Pucchini, Mozart. Ren started actively with music when he was 8 years old with piano lessons.Since his teenage years Ren's interest his electronics gained. He first started with 2 old Akai tapemachines and a set of microphones and later on he gothis first Eminent S20 low budget organ which broke down witin3 years. Later on Ren acquired his first synthesizer, the Korg Poly 800. Since 1993 he started to record electronic music with a Fostex R8 multi track recorderand in 2002with a computer and Cubase DAW.In 2004 he founded his own record label REWO Records forreleasing his musicaccording to his own artistic view of Electronic music - www.rewo-records.comHere you find all his albums such as the succesful debut albumPro Sequentia, it's follow up Alchemia, Recreation, Universal Quiet and the most recent album Sequential Tourism. The latter two albums are typical retro synth music albums inspired on the music of artists like Klaus Schulze, Tomita and on the music of Tangerine Dream. This means true Moog Style sequences with true Moog analoguesynthesizers, classical analogue string machines and the favourable Mellotron M400 sounds.Ren van der Wouden's music can described as organic, floating, imaging, theatrical music performed on electronic instruments.
