Who is Richard Hawkins?
Richard Stephen Hawkins is a bishop in the Church of England and is currently a Chapter Canon of Exeter Cathedral.
Born in 1939 and educated at Exeter College, Oxford, he trained for ordination at St Stephen's House, Oxford. In his early career he served as a team vicar in rural Devon and the city of Exeter. Then he was Archdeacon of Totnes before elevation to the episcopate as Bishop of Plymouth. He was later translated to Crediton.
Hawkins' father was John Hawkins, Archdeacon of Totnes.
