Who is Robert Ladds?

Robert Sidney Ladds SSC is an English bishop who served as the suffragan Bishop of Whitby from 1999 to 2008.

Ladds was educated at Canterbury Christ Church University.

He began his ordained ministry in 1981 as a curate in Hythe, Kent and was then successively chaplain to Stewart Cross, Vicar of Bretherton, Rector of Preston and finally Archdeacon of Lancaster. A keen gardener he was a chemistry teacher at Borden Grammar School, Sittingbourne before being ordained. He is the current Superior-General of the Society of Mary.
