Who is Ronald S.W. Lew?
Ronald S.W. Lew is a U.S. District Court Judge for the Central District of California in the Ninth Circuit. Outside of Hawaii, Judge Lew was the first Chinese-American appointed to the federal bench after being appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1987. He is a graduate of Loyola High School, and he earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1964, and his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 1971.
Judge Lew was appointed to the District Court upon the recommendation of Attorney Hochman, the father of Assistant United States Attorney Nathan Hochman, who regularly practiced in front of Lew.
