Who was Rube McCray?
Ruben North "Rube" McCray was the head coach for the William & Mary Tribe men's basketball team from 1943 to 1945. He compiled an overall record of 17–21.
McCray also coached the William & Mary football team from 1944 to 1950 and compiled a 45–22 record. He is second all-time in school history for career football coaching wins behind Jimmye Laycock.
