Who is Samuel Edney?
Samuel Edney is a Canadian luger who has competed since 2000. Competing in three Winter Olympics, 2006 Winter Olympics he finished nineteenth and he earned his best finish of seventh in the men's singles event at Vancouver in 2010 and he placed 11th in Sochi, Russia 2014.
Edney's best World Championship finish came at the FIL World Luge Championships where he was seventh in the men's singles event at Altenberg, Germany in 2012. Edney was also part of the Canadian team that won Bronze in the FIL World Luge Championships team relay event at 2012.
Edney has twice placed fifth in World Cup events, first in Calgary, Canada in 2009, and secondly in 2011 in Whistler, BC
