Who is Shweta Shetty?

Shweta Shetty is an Indian pop singer known for her albums and for her contributions to Bollywood film soundtracks. She currently lives in Hamburg, Germany. She is married to a German, Christian Brandt.

Shetty started her career at age 17 by taking modelling jobs and singing commercial jingles. Her father was displeased with her career path and did not speak to her for years until after she married Brandt in 1997.

Her first album, Johnny Joker, was a moderate success. Soon Shetty became known as a star in the Indian pop scene, performing songs for films and appearing on television programs such as MTV India.

Shetty has performed with other artists including Sarah Brightman, Gregorian and Jam & Spoon.
