Who is Skinny DeVille?
William Rahsaan Hughes (born in Louisville, Kentucky, USA) and better known by his stage names Skinny DeVille and Saan, is a member of the Kentucky-based alternative southern rap quintet group Nappy Roots. He was described by the magazine Rolling Stone as "The philosopher of the group and a plotter who's always thinking ten steps ahead." Skinny sings on every major Nappy Roots album song but one in the album Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz. The one song was "Slums" (track #8). He is the only person to sing in the song "Swerve and Lean", a Nappy Roots song from the album The Humdinger where it is track #6. Hughes has a brother named Daren and two sisters named Cathy and Shara. He has a wife named Shannon, who together have one son named Billy Kayd, and one daughter named Quincee Haylen.
