Who was Stanislav Zhukovsky?
Stanislav Yulianovich Zhukovsky was a Polish-Russian Impressionist painter, and also a member of the prestigious Union of Russian artists.
Zhukovsky was born in Yendrikhovtsy, Grodno Province. He was a student of Isaac Levitan and graduate of the Moscow School of Painting. Zhukovsky became a celebrated landscapist associated with the Impressionist movement and established his own art studio in Moscow, in which he mentored many artists, most notably the painter Liubov Popova and a young Vladimir Mayakovsky who was then working as a poster artist.
