Who is Stanley N. Katz?

Stanley N. Katz is a legal historian at Princeton University and the president emeritus of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). He was president of the ACLS from 1986 to 1997. Prior to joining the ACLS, he was Class of 1921 Bicentennial Professor of the History of American Law and Liberty at Princeton University (1978-1986). He is currently a lecturer with the rank of Professor in Public and International Affairs and directs the Center for Arts and Cultural Policy Studies at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School.
