Who is Stefan Sittig?

Stefan Sittig is known mostly as an American musical theatre director, choreographer and performer. He holds a BA from the University of Virginia, and an MFA in Theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University. His creative work has appeared Off-Broadway, internationally in Canada and Uruguay, and regionally in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Although he was born in the U.S., Sittig's mother is Uruguayan and he was raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is perhaps best known as co-director and choreographer of the World Premiere of the Spanish version of Stephen Schwartz's musical Working.

He has also created choreography for several productions in the Washington D.C. area including Man of La Mancha for The Washington Savoyards, Noël & Gertie for MetroStage, Polaroid Stories for The Studio Theatre, Jesus Christ Superstar for Open Circle Theatre, Dorothy Meets Alice and Winnie The Pooh for Adventure Theatre, Flora The Red Menace for 1st Stage, Hollywood Pinafore for The American Century Theater and many other regional productions along the east coast.
