Who is Stuart Anderson?

Stuart Anderson is an Australian rules footballer. He comes from the Victorian town of Sale. In 1994 he was drafted by North Melbourne where he played 61 games as a midfielder/half-forward, including the 1996 premiership. At the end of the 1997 he was traded to the Fremantle Dockers in return for Winston Abraham. His career declined after the move west, only managing to play 9 games in 1998 for the Dockers. After failing to be selected in the league team at the beginning of the 1999 season, Anderson left the Fremantle Football Club mid year.

At Fremantle, Anderson is most remembered for the fight he had with Tony Modra over the No 6 guernsey. When Modra arrived from Adelaide Crows at the beginning of the 1999 season, the glamour superstar full forward wanted to remain in the No 6 guernsey that he had worn with great success throughout his junior and senior days. In the end Modra gave Anderson $200 worth of clothing in exchange for the No 6 guernsey.

He was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne.
