Who was T. O'Conor Sloane?
Thomas O'Conor Sloane, Ph.D. was the editor of Amazing Stories from 1929 through 1938. In that year, publisher Ziff-Davis bought the magazine and moved its production to Chicago, naming Raymond A. Palmer as Sloane's successor.
