Who is T. P. Rajalakshmi?

Thiruvaiyaru Panchapakesa Rajalakshmi was the first TAMIL FILM HEROINE, first TAMIL FEMALE DIRECTOR and FILM PRODUCER.

T.P.Rajalakshmi was entitled by the title "Cinema Rani", that was awarded by the people for her outstanding beauty and skills. She was also awarded the "KALAIMAAMANI" award for her skills and contributions to the South Indian Film Industry.

Centenary Honor:

Cinema Rani T.P.Rajalakshmi's Centenary Function was celebrated as a Government function recently. T.P.Rajalakshmi's family were honored in behalf of Cinema Rani. Smt.T.S.Kamala feels happy for the Centenary Function,that had brought back the Hidden Treasures of Cinema Rani to the world.

Also recently, another Centenary honor function was conducted at Thiruvaiyaru.. Cinema Rani's daughter kamala and her son Mr.Raghavan were facilitated in behalf of Cinema Rani. Kamala in Press Meet thanked all for organizing the event and to recall her mother's contributions and achievements.

A book based on the life history and achievements was released on her Centenary Awards to honor the Pioneer. In behalf of T.P.R, her daughter Kamala participated in the release and released the first edition.
