Singh competed for the India national basketball team for the first time at the FIBA Asia Championship 2009. Singh had a solid first tournament for the Indians, averaging 13.6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game at the for the 13th placed Indians. His 2.4 steals per game was the second-highest total for the tournament, behind only Iranian player Mehdi Kamrani.
