Who was Tam Rose?
Walter Sumner "Tam" Rose was a professional football player in the National Football League with the Tonawanda Kardex. He served as the team's halfback as well as head coach. Before joining the NFL, Rose was a captain of the Syracuse University football team from 1913-1915. There he was twice selected to Walter Camp’s All-American team, and was the leading point scorer for Syracuse.
Rose was the head coach of the Kardex, since the team was founded in 1916. However the team played in only one game in the NFL before folding in 1921.
