Who was Téophile Seyrig?
Influential railway and structural engineer who collaborated with Eiffel on projects in France, and the railway bridge "Ponte Dona Maria II" (Maria Pia) between Vila Nova de Gaia and Campanhã in Porto. He later worked alone and designed the Ponte Dom Luis I, also in Porto. Both of which are major steel bridge structures. There are many different spellings of his name on the net.
