Who is Thomas Knoll?
Thomas Knoll is an American software engineer. With his brother John Knoll he initiated the development of Adobe Photoshop. He was the lead developer until version CS4, and currently contributes to work on the Camera Raw plug-in to process raw images from cameras.
Knoll was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Michigan. He currently lives in Ann Arbor. In addition to co-creating Photoshop, his brother, John Knoll, is a visual effects supervisor and chief creative officer at Industrial Light & Magic. Their father, Glenn Knoll, is a professor at University of Michigan.
