Who is Tom Gauld?

Tom Gauld, is a Scottish cartoonist and illustrator. He studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal College of Art.

Gauld has created a number of books including Guardians of the Kingdom, 3 Very Small Comics, Robots, Monsters etc., Hunter and Painter, The Gigantic Robot, Goliath and You're All Just Jealous of my Jetpack. His cartoon Move to the City ran weekly in London's Time Out 2001-2002.

He has worked with Simone Lia, whom he met at the Royal College of Art. Together they self-published the comics First and Second, under their Cabanon Press. The two volumes were subsequently published together by Bloomsbury Publishing in 2003, as Both. He has produced a number of cartoons for The Guardian newspaper, and now contributes to its Saturday Review section.

Gauld lives in London with his partner, artist Jo Taylor.
