Anthony Richard "Tony" Perkins is president of the Family Research Council, a Christian right think tank, public policy and lobbying organization based in Washington, D.C. Perkins was previously a police officer and television reporter, served two terms as a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives and ran for the U.S. Senate 2002.
