Who was Tranquilo Cappozzo?
Tranquilo Capozzo was an Argentine rower and Olympic champion who competed in the 1948 Summer Olympics and in the 1952 Summer Olympics.
He was born in the United States died in Valle Hermoso.
In 1948 he was eliminated in the semi-finals of the single sculls event.
Four years later he won gold medal in double sculls competition together with Eduardo Guerrero. That was for 52 years the last gold medal at Olympics for Argentina until the victories of Soccer and Basketball men teams in 2004 games
