Who was Vere Fane, 4th Earl of Westmorland?

Vere Fane, 4th Earl of Westmorland KB, known as Sir Vere Fane from 1661 to 1691, was a British peer and Member of Parliament for Peterborough and Kent.

He was Lord Lieutenant of Kent. He inherited the earldom from his brother, Charles Fane, 3rd Earl of Westmorland, and was succeeded by his second, but surviving, son Vere Fane, 5th Earl of Westmorland.
