Who was Vu Cong?
Vu Cong, known in the United States as Joseph Vu. Vu was a Catholic Vietnamese politician in South Vietnam.
Vu was a Congressman in the South Vietnamese legislature where he served as an ally to the United States. In 1975, he became Minister of Labor to the South Vietnamese government and held that position until the fall of Saigon. Vu fled to the United States as a refugee of the South Vietnamese government and later became an activist in the Republican Party and the Vietnamese-American Community. Vu died of leukemia in Houston, Texas, in 2004.
