Walter Beaman Jones, Jr. is the US Representative for North Carolina's 3rd congressional district, serving since 1995. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district encompasses the Outer Banks and stretches from areas near the Pamlico Sound down to Wilmington. Jones' father was Walter B. Jones, Sr., a Democratic Party congressman from the neighboring 1st district.
