Who is William F. Cody?

WILLIAM F. CODY, FAIA, was born in 1916 in Dayton, Ohio. Educated at USC where he worked for architect Cliff May. Moved to Palm Springs and built his first project: the Del Marcos Hotel in 1947. Converted the Thunderbird Dude Ranch to the Thunderbird Country Club, which led to his later designs of the Tamarisk and the Eldorado Country Clubs. One of the designers of the Spa Hotel and a wide variety of commercial and residential projects in Palm Springs, Phoenix, San Diego, Palo Alto, and Havana. Designed the Palm Springs Library Center and St. Theresa Catholic Church prior to suffering a stroke that ended his architectural career. - PS Modcom
