William R. Smith

Who is William R. Smith?

Dr. Smith is the founding Dean of Science at Ontario's newest

university, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

Prior to 2003, he was a Professor in the Department of Mathematics

and Statistics at the School of Engineering at the University of

Guelph, and at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is

a researcher in computational physics, applied mathematics, and

chemical engineering, and has received a teaching award for the

innovative use of computing technology in university education.
