Who is Spaceman Patterson?
William “Spaceman” Patterson is a composer, arranger, producer and entrepreneur.
Patterson studied at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory of Music, and the New York Institute of Technology. He has also studied independently in New York City with Coleridge Taylor Perkinson And James Blood Ulmer. He has established himself not only as a performing artist and has performed and/or recorded with such artists as Miles Davis, James Brown, Pharaoh Sanders, Bill Cosby, and Stevie Wonder. He appeared on and produced Melvin Van Peebles' album Ghetto Gothic, and was also involved in the production of Nahh... Nahh Mofo. He also performed a stage play with Van Peebles called "Unmitigated Truth: Life, a Lavatory, Loves, and Ladies". His television projects include The Cosby Show, A Different World, Sesame Street, The Cosby Mysteries, One Life to Live, Cosby, Fatherhood, Unstoppable: Conversation with Melvin Van Peebles, Gordon Parks, and Ossie Davis.
