Who is Yoko Nozaki?
Yoko Nozaki is a pianist and musician, specializing in chamber music, and the wife of Grammy Award-winning pianist Emanuel Ax.
Nozaki was born in Tokyo, Japan and studied at the Toho School of Music. At age 12, she and her family moved to the United States. She entered The Juilliard School in New York City in 1966 when she was 18, and met her future husband there. In 1970 she won the Concert Artists Guild Award. Ms. Nozaki is a frequent performer and has appeared as a duo-soloist with her husband, Emanuel Ax. The couple has two children, Sarah and Joseph. They reside in New York City.
