Who is Zing?

Zing is a prominent Hong Kong make-up artist for the stars.

Zing was born in 1970 in Singapore born and studied English Literature, music, performing arts and fashion. He started career as Makeup Artist in 1989 and opted to leave Singapore and moved to Hong Kong in 1992.

Made his mark in Hong Kong and caused major changes in the makeup, fashion and entertainment scene first with his "bare-faced" looks and then with his creative approach to makeup. His extraordinarily bizarre use of glitter on pop diva Faye Wong for a TV show in 1996 became a rage and catapulted the mass use of glitter in the business and the public.

Published 1st book in 1997 in conjunction with personal exhibition at The Hong Kong Arts Centre.

Signed with Max Factor as Image Creator from 1997 to 1999. Created seasonal looks and print ads that elevated the brand to another level.

In 1998, Zing became the first Chinese makeup artist to be interviewed by CNN.

Appointed as official makeup artist and spokesperson for SKII and Max Factor's advertising campaigns and TV commercials from 1998 - 2003.

Made history by achieving a record-breaking 5-makeup-changes for Faye Wong, one for each outfit, during her New Year concert in 1998/99.
