Who is Wiam Wahhab?

Wiam Wahhab is a Lebanese politician. He is a Druze.

A journalist, and former political advisor to Lebanese Prince Talal Arslan between 1991 and 2000, he ran unsuccessfully in the legislative elections of 1996.

Appointed as minister of the environment in October 2004 in the government of Omar Karami, Wahhab is extremely pro-Syrian and pro-Iranian, and militantly opposed to the policies of Al Hariri and 14 march policies.

In 2006 Wahhab founded the Arab Tawhid party, which was involved in various feuds and fights against the Druze who support the Progressive Socialist Party of Walid Jumblatt.

Wiam Wahhab is part of the National Coalition, led by Omar Karami.

Wahhab's ideology is pro-Syrian, and he has espoused Arab nationalist viewpoints. He is against Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United States.
