INTRODUCTION: I Made Sidia is a Wayang Dalang, a master Balinese wayang puppeteer, an accomplished Topeng dancer, choreographer and Gamelan musician. He is one of Bali's most acclaimed shadow artists. Sidia is currently the foremost exponent of contemporary Wayang Kulit in Bali as well as Wayang Kontemporer which adds electric lighting and music, projections, a large screen and mobile puppeteers. He was trained as a classical Wayang Dalang, He also is the Prinicipal of Sanggar Paripurna – a school and production company for all of these arts, in Bona, Gianyar, Bali.

He is a senior lecturer at the Performing Arts College ISI and a judge for graduating performing arts students from the performing arts high school in Denpasar. He is also employed as a quality controller regarding the authenticity of some of the major companies dedicated to cultural presentations for tourism in Ubud. He also trains neighbourhood and departmental cultural groups from children to adults in his home districtof Gianyar and collaborates with other significant artists, especially contemporary fusion musicians/comincluding I Made Subandi.
