Who is LD Beghtol?

LD Beghtol is an American musician, art director and writer. Beghtol participated in The Magnetic Fields' 69 Love Songs recordings and live shows. He is a founding member of the band Flare—aka Flare Acoustic Arts League—and the death-pop outfit LD & the New Criticism, and was also in the collective moth wranglers. He has served as designer/art director for The Village Voice, Travel Holiday, Outdoor Life and many other publications and corporate concerns; currently he works in pharmaceutical advertising. Beghtol has written extensively about music, the visual/performing arts, books and culture for Gail O'Hara's fanzine chickfactor, Time Out, The Memphis Flyer, The Advocate, The Oxford American and many other publications. Beghtol lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
