Who is Ashley Twichell?
Ashley Grace Twichell is an American competition swimmer. Twichell earned the first international medals of her career at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai, winning gold in the 5 km team and bronze in the 5 km open water events. Later in 2011, she earned a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle at the 2011 Pan American Games. At the 2012 United States Olympic Trials, she placed 10th in the 800-meter freestyle and 18th in the 400-meter freestyle, missing the Olympic team. In 2013, Twichell won gold in the 10 km open water event at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan.
