Alfred "Alf" James Higgs birth registered in Pontypool district, was a Welsh professional rugby league footballer of the 1920s, playing at representative level for Wales, and at club level for Oldham, and Halifax, as a Centre, i.e. number 3 or 4, he died in Newport.
