Who is Andrés Conesa?
Andrés Conesa Labastida is Aeroméxico's President.
After studying at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and at MIT, he joined the Mexican administration, holding several positions in different ministries. In 2005, Conesa joined Aeroméxico, and served as its CEO from 2005 until February 2013, when Eduardo Tricio, owner of what had become the largest shareholder in Aeroméxico, Grupo Lala, took over as CEO and Conesa became President.
Conesa is the nephew of 2000 Institutional Revolutionary Party presidential candidate Francisco Labastida Ochoa. He is also the nephew of, a well-known Mexican poet, journalist, essayist, philosopher and academic. Conesa is married to the Mexican golf star Lorena Ochoa, who announced her retirement from the sport in 2010 in order to start their family.
