Who was Antoni Protazy Potocki?
Antoni Protazy Potocki, aka Prot, was a Polish noble. Knight of the Order of the White Eagle, awarded on May 8, 1781.
Antoni became a banker in Warsaw and was also voivode of Kiev Voivodship in 1791 and starost of Guzów, Żyrardów County..
He was the owner of Chudniv and organized several factories in the village of Makhnivka, near Berdychiv. He directed the Polish Black Sea Trading Company, and ran an import-export business in Russian-ruled Kherson. He inherited from his father big capital. Potocki bankrupted in 1793 in connection to financial crisis.
