Who is Bablin Molik?
Bablin Molik is a British Bangladeshi scientist and politician. She was chosen as prospective candidate by the Liberal Democrats as their candidate in Cardiff South and Penarth by-election, 2012. Molik is a medical researcher. She received her PhD from Cardiff University for researching on glaucoma eye disease in 2007, and is now active as a Research Assistant with Bristol University. Molik also works with the organisations 'Women Connect First' and 'Women making a Difference'. She is married with two daughters. In April 2008 she received the prestigious ‘Channel S’ award from her native Bangladesh, following her having achieved her PhD after juggling her studies with bringing up her children.
