Who is Bill Harris?

William D. Bill Harris is an American lobbyist and operative of the Republican Party of the United States. The Republican National Committee appointed Harris to become the Chief Executive Officer of the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City, New York and was charged with planning the quadrennial meeting at Madison Square Garden that would nominate George W. Bush to a second term as President of the United States.

Harris also served as CEO of the Republican National Conventions in Houston, Texas in 1992 and Tampa, Florida in 2012. He was National Convention Director in 2008 for the McCain/Palin campaign.

He is originally from Alabama where he served as Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party from 1977-1985 and previously served as its Executive Director from 1976-1977. He was a U. S. Presidential Elector in 1984 and was a delegate to the GOP National Convention in 1980 and 1984.

He currently resides in Washington, D. C. with his wife, Suzi. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama.
