Who is Dawna Friesen?
Dawna Friesen is a Canadian television journalist and is the anchor and executive editor of Global National.
A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and graduate of Red River College, Friesen has worked in journalism since 1985, working in Thunder Bay, Ontario; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Brandon, Manitoba; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Vancouver, British Columbia.
Friesen reported and anchored for CBC Television in Vancouver and for CBC Newsworld. She then moved to the CTV as a national reporter for the network, and an anchor for CTV NewsNet. She moved to NBC News in 1999, and was a foreign correspondent in the network's London bureau.
She began anchoring Global National on September 20, 2010.
She married to CTV journalist Tom Kennedy. They have one son.
