Who was Elizabeth Rogers?
Elizabeth Rogers was an American actress.
Born Betty Jayne Rogers in Austin, Texas, she was famous for her roles in the 1960s television series Star Trek. She portrayed Lt. Palmer, the relief communications officer for Lt. Uhura in the episodes The Doomsday Machine and The Way to Eden. She also provided the voice of The Companion character in the episode Metamorphosis. From 1960 to 1970, she played minor characters in thirty-seven episodes of a dozen different prime-time network series, including Little House on the Prairie, Bewitched, Gunsmoke, The Waltons, Marcus Welby, M.D., Dragnet 1966, Mannix, Dragnet 1967, Bonanza, The Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants, Dr. Kildare, and Slattery's People. During the 1970s she also appeared in a string of Irwin Allen produced films including The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno. She was a personal friend of Allen and his wife Sheila Matthews Allen. She was married to actor Erik Nelson in the backyard of Producer Irwin Allen's home. Her last major motion picture was An Officer and a Gentleman in 1982 in which she played the mother of the Debra Winger character.
