Who was Empress Teimei?
Empress Teimei, also known as Empress Dowager Teimei, was empress consort of Emperor Taishō of Japan. Born Sadako Kujō, she was the mother of Emperor Shōwa. Her posthumous name, Teimei, means "enlightened constancy".
