Who is Gallanosa family?

The Gallanosa Clan originated from the town of Sta. Magdalena, province of Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

Mr. Julian Gallanosa, the Patriarch, was married to Leoncia Fungo. They bore 11 children, 4 boys & 7 girls. The eldest son Don Ysidro Gallanosa was born on May 15, 1849. He became the first town president or mayor of Sta. Magdalena, Sorsogon,. He was married to Doña Tecla Dollentas of Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon. They had only child, Don Pedro. However Mayor Gallanosa was arrested by a detachment of the 15th U.S. Infantry Regiment garrisoned at nearby Matnog under Captain E. Wittenmeyer, on charges of aiding and assisting members of the "Anting-Anting Society" insurgency following a sustained skirmish at Gati, Sorsogon on Sep. 7, 1901. On November 7, 1901, Don Ysidro was shot by American soldiers while trying to escape and died of his wounds. He now has a monument at the Plaza of Sta. Magdalena. This was donated by his great great granddaughter Maria Rosario Gallanosa-Gardecki.

Their only child Pedro was born January 1, 1901. His mother Doña Tecla Dollentas vda de Gallanosa remarried Don Florentino Hitosis, a childless widower of Irosin, Sorsogon. They had a daughter Dominga, but died at age 5. Pedro was married to Corazon Figueroa Grecia of Juban, Sorsogon, on June 26, 1927. They inherited properties from his stepfather Don Florentino upon the latter’s death on May 26, 1939 at Irosin.
