Who was Gunnar Lindström?
Nils Gunnar Lindström was a Swedish athlete who competed mainly in the 1920 Summer Olympics, in the 1924 Summer Olympics, and in the 1928 Summer Olympics in javelin throw.
He was born and died in Eksjö and was the older brother of Elof Lindström.
In 1920 he finished sixth in the javelin throw event.
Four years later in the 1924 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France he won the silver medal in the javelin throw competition. In the same year, 1924, he set the world record in his hometown Eksjö and improved his mark in 1925.
His last Olympic appearance was in 1928 when he finished 14th in the javelin throw event.
