Who was Gus Sandberg?
Gustave E. Sandberg was a catcher in Major League Baseball. He played for the Cincinnati Reds. While playing for the Los Angeles Angels in the Pacific Coast League, Sandberg died when he suffered first, second and third degree burns after he lit a match to see how much fuel he had left in his car's fuel tank, after siphoning petrol into the car of manager Marty Krug.
