Who was Henry O'Hara?

Henry Stewart O’Hara was an eminent Church of Ireland priest in the last decades of the 19th century and the early ones of the 20th.

O’Hara was born on 6 September 1843 into an ecclesiastical family: his father was for many years Rector of Coleraine, a post he himself was to hold from 1869 to 1894. Educated at Leicester Collegiate School and Trinity College, Dublin he was Vicar of Belfast from 1894 until around the start of the 20th century. He was then Bishop of Cashel, Emly, Waterford and Lismore, until his retirement in 1919.

He died on 11 December 1923. He had married Hatton Thomasina, the daughter of Thomas Scott of Willsboro.
