Who was Hugh XII of Lusignan?
Hugh XII de Lusignan, Hugh VII of La Marche or Hugh III of Angoulême or Hugues XII & VII & III de Lusignan. He succeeded his father Hugh XI as seigneur of Lusignan, Couhe, and Peyrat, Count of La Marche and Count of Angoulême in 1250.
He married at Fougères 29 January 1253/4 Jeanne de Fougères, daughter of Raoul III, seigneur of Fougères, and Isabelle de Craon. They had six children:
Hugues XIII & VIII & IV de Lusignan
Guy I & I & I de Lusignan
Yolande I & I de Lusignan
Jeanne of Lusignan, married Bernard-Ezy I, seigneur of Albret; Sir Peter de Geneville, Knt.
Marie de Lusignan, married in 1288 Etienne II, Count of Sancerre
Isabelle de Lusignan, nun at Fontevrault.
