Who is Irina Iordachescu?

Irina Iordachescu is a Romanian soprano opera singer.

Soprano Irina Iordachescu was born in Bucharest, in a family of musicians.

In 2000 she graduated the Academy of Music in Bucharest, at the singing class of professor Maria Slatinaru Nistor and the lieder-oratorio class of professor Dan Iordachescu. Starting with 1997, she has been a laureate of national singing competitions, such as "Mihail Jora" - Second Prize and "Ionel Perlea" - Grand Prize. She is also a laureate of international singing competitions such as "G.B. Viotti" - Italia - Prize "Cesare Bardelli"; "Silvia Geszty" - Spain - Third Prize; "Maria Callas" - Greece - Third Prize; "Vincenzo Bellini" - Italy - Second Prize; "IVC s’Hertogenbosch" - Holland -Third Prize and the Prize of the Public. The year 2000 has brought the debut of soprano Irina Iordachescu on the stage of the Bucharest National Opera, in the role of Pamina from W.A. Mozart’s "Die Zauberflote", and in 2001 she made her international debut on the stage of the "Dante Alighieri " Theatre in Ravenna, in the role of Giulietta from "I Capuleti e I Montecchi " by Vincenzo Bellini, in the Musical Festival of Ravenna, Italy.

Also in 2001 she was invited to sing in two vocal-symphonic concerts on the stage of the "Teatro alla Scala" from Milan, Italy, under the musical direction of Maestro RICCARDO MUTI, with the Orchestra and the Choir of "Teatro alla Scala". In the same concerts, she has also sung in the " Tourneo nei paesi dell’Est " of the Orchestra and Choir of " La Scala ", under the musical direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti.
