Iris Weinshall is a vice chancellor at the City University of New York and a former commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation. Weinshall was appointed commissioner by then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani on September 8, 2000 and left the post on April 13, 2007. She is married to New York Senator Charles Schumer.
